Don’t Google this lawyer

A lawyer who has been practicing law in B.C. since 1988 is suing one of his former clients for defamation.

If you talk to Glenn Niemela, he’d tell you not to Google his name.

The lawyer was hired by his client Strato Malamas back in March of 2009 to provide legal services.

But according to Niemela, what he found five years later was that his former client had allegedly written defamatory postings about him on and, which show up every time you Google his name.

Niemela says he’s been called “a scam artist who steals from his clients” and a “professional crook”.

Despite his application to Google to remove the online links, some still show up on the first page.

Niemela is seeking damages from his former client and an order that Google takes down the content.
