Lawyer says riot student given nasty treatment on line

The UBC student who apologized on her blog for participating in the Stanley Cup riot will appear in court next week.

Camille Cacnio confessed online: she admitted to taking part in the looting of a clothing store.

She was criticized for trying to justify her actions.

Lawyer Jason Tarnow says the negative reaction from the community has been a horrible experience for her.

He says a lot of people have been pretty courageous “….from behind their keyboards”, in an anonymous fashion, saying a lot of nasty things about her.

The 21 year old was fired from her job at Burrard Acura after they received complaints about her behaviour.

Cacnio will make her first court appearance January 31st.

Boohoo, cry me a river. What bothers me and a lot of other people is she did not sound contrite in her “apology”. Instead she seemed to be looking for excuses.
